GOAL OF THE YEAR - ABOUT
HOW IT WORKS
The AFL and British Paints are giving you the opportunity to have your say on the weekly winners of the 2013 British Paints Goal of the Year Award.
Each week the best three goals from the completed round will be selected by the AFL Panel and placed on the AFL British Paints Goal of the Year website by 7pm on Monday (or the day after the last game of the round). Viewers can visit the website to vote for their favourite British Paints Goal of the Week. Voting will close at 12pm the following Monday.
All voters who enter their details for the weekly prize will go into the draw to win $200 cash from British Paints.
In the event that voters select a goal differently to the AFL panel, that mark will also be included for consideration for the 2013 British Paints Goal of the Year.
At the conclusion of the Home and Away Season, the All Australian Selection Committee shall select the 3 best goals from the 23 weekly selections chosen by the AFL panel and any public selections that differ from the AFL panel. The selection will be based on a 5/4/3/2/1 vote given by each member of the selection committee.
The top three selections for the British Paints Goal of the Year will be announced on September 9th 2013, via afl.com.au.
All three nominations will then be placed on the AFL British Paints Goal of the Year website by 7pm on Monday the 9th of September where viewers are encouraged to vote for their nomination for their British Paints Goal of the Year. Voting will open on Monday 9th September and close the following Monday, 16th September.
The voters who have selected the same British Paints Goal of the Year as the All Australian Committee and entered their details for the major prize will go into the draw to win $5,000 cash, courtesy of British Paints.
The winner will be announced on or before 28th September 2013.

Conditions of Entry for the "2013 AFL Goal of the Year Promotion" (Promotion)
GENERAL
- Information on How to Enter and prize information form part of these Conditions of Entry (Conditions of Entry).
- Entry into the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.
- The entrant is responsible for ensuring his or her familiarity with the Conditions of Entry at the time of participation. The Promoter’s decision not to enforce a specific restriction (whether communicated to an entrant or not) does not constitute a waiver of that restriction or of the Conditions of Entry generally.
- All entrants acknowledge that the Promoter can rely on these Conditions of Entry even if the Promoter only learns of a person’s ineligibility after the Promoter has awarded a prize to the ineligible person. Return of the prize or payment of its equivalent value to the Promoter may be required by the Promoter if this occurs.
- The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspect of these Conditions of Entry and the Promotion is final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.

HOW TO ENTER
The Australian Football League (AFL) will be conducting the 2013 Goal of the Year competition (Competition). This Promotion will be conducted in conjunction with the Competition. In the Competition, the AFL will select three (3) goals scored in the matches played in the relevant AFL round (Competition Round) and post them on its website www.afl.com.au/goal (Online Entry Site).
Individuals can vote for their favourite goal in each of the twenty three (23) Competition Rounds of the 2013 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. By submitting a vote in a Competition Round an Eligible Entrant will be eligible to enter the Minor Prize Draw that corresponds to that Competition Round. Eligible Entrants will also receive one (1) entry into the Major Prize Draw for the first time they submit a vote in a Competition Round.
After the twenty three (23) Competition Rounds have concluded, the AFL will select a total of three (3) goals from all the Competition Rounds and post these three (3) goals on www.afl.com.au for the purpose of determining the overall goal of the year for the Competition (Final Round). Any individual who has not yet submitted a vote in a Competition Round will be eligible to enter the Major Prize Draw by submitting a vote in the Final Round.
- Entry into this Promotion is via the Online Entry Site only.
- Eligible Entrants can complete their Eligible Entry during the Promotion Period by:
(a) logging on to the Online Entry Site and submitting a vote in the Competition in any one of the twenty three (23) Competition Rounds or the Final Round, and then fully completing the requested details in accordance with the directions on the entry page for this Promotion, during the Promotion Period; and
(b) indicating their acceptance of these Conditions of Entry, (Qualifying Entry).
EACH ENTRY MUST RELATE TO A SEPARATE QUALIFYING ENTRY
- Any costs associated with accessing the Online Entry Site are the Eligible Entrant’s responsibility and are dependent on the internet service provider used. Eligible Entrants must submit their entries manually using an internet browser.
- Post Office boxes, Private Bags, Locked Bags or Common Boxes will not be accepted as postal addresses.
- If an Eligible Entrant submits an entry:
- which complies with these Conditions of Entry, they will receive an on-screen notification confirming that their entry is valid and has been received; or
- which does not comply with these Conditions of Entry, they will receive an on-screen notification that their entry is invalid,
whichever is applicable in the circumstances.
- The Promoter is not responsible for technical difficulties with the entry mechanism and does not warrant that the entry mechanism will be available at all times.
- The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows a person to automatically enter the promotion repeatedly is prohibited and will render entries submitted using such means invalid.
- Incomplete or illegible entries, or entries which contain offensive or defamatory comments, or which breach any law or infringe any third party rights, including intellectual property rights, are not eligible to win.
- Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter's database, not time of transmission by the Eligible Entrant.
- Eligible Entrants who submit a vote in either a Competition Round or the Final Round during the Promotion Period will be awarded one (1) entry into the Major Prize Draw. For the sake of clarity, Eligible Entrants will only be entered into the Major Prize Draw once (regardless of how many times they have voted).
VERIFICATION
- If requested by the Promoter, Eligible Entrants must produce, within the time requested by the Promoter at its absolute discretion appropriate photo identification or other documentation, required by the Promoter to verify their identity, age, eligibility to enter the Promotion and claim a prize (if drawn) and compliance with these Conditions of Entry. If the items required by the Promoter are not received or an entry has not been verified to the satisfaction of the Promoter within the time period required by the Promoter, the entry will be deemed invalid and, at the Promoter's absolute discretion, all of the Eligible Entrant's remaining entries will be invalid. A prize will only be awarded following all validation and verification requirements of the Promoter being met to its satisfaction.
